Service Description: Provides counselling for youth who are in conflict with the law * offers the following programs:

Community support team:
  • provides intensive support and clinical intervention services to high-risk young offenders and their families
  • provides individual, family and group-based counselling, skills training, psychological and psychiatry assessment and consultation and referrals to community services
  • help youth reduce conflict with the law
  • decrease the probability of re-offending
  • facilitate re-integration from custody and detention back into the community

Arson prevention program for children and youth (TAPP-C):
  • offered to children and youth who have been involved in some form of fire-setting or have been convicted of arson
  • provides assessments and counseling services to children and their families
  • offered in partnership with the Fire Services of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma district

Application: Referrals required from Fire Services and/or Youth Justice System
Eligibility / Target Population: Youth between the ages of 12 and 17 in conflict with the law
