HSN Urges Visitors To Help Protect Against the Flu

SUDBURY, ON –  People visiting patients at Health Sciences North/Horizon Santé-Nord (HSN) are being asked to help stop the spread of the flu.

HSN is encouraging anyone who is visiting the hospital to take all necessary precautions to help prevent the spread of the flu. This includes getting a flu shot, cleaning hands before and after visiting patients, and wearing a mask when and where necessary.

People displaying symptoms of the flu (high fever, headache, sore throat, runny nose, cough, muscle aches and pains, and mild upset stomach) are being asked to refrain from visiting HSN unless it’s to seek medical care.

HSN is currently experiencing an outbreak of Influenza A at the Ramsey Lake Health Centre. Two patients have tested positive for Influenza A

HSN has taken the necessary infection control precautions and measures, including isolating patients, enhanced cleaning and strict hand hygiene.

The outbreak is not affecting visiting privileges at HSN.
