Service Description: Child Welfare Services

  • offers child protection services
  • investigate reports or evidence of abuse or neglect of children under the age of 16 or in the society's care or supervision and, where necessary, take steps to protect the children
  • care for and supervise children who come under their care or supervision
  • counsel and support families for the protection of children or to prevent circumstances requiring the protection of children
  • place children for adoption

    MotherCare Nipissing

  • offers prenatal nutrition support program
  • provides free, nutrituous food to supplement the needs of pregnant woment and breast-feeding mothers for the first 2 months
  • provides education on healthy eating
  • holds a drop-in session held at the Trinity United Church Wednesday mornings


  • Play your Part Parenting Program

  • provides a wide variety of hands-on activities, social support, coping skills evaluation and on site structured child care

    Infant and Child Development Services

  • helps children up to the age of 5 who have developmental delays or are at risk for a delay
  • provides home-based formal and informal developmental assessments that assists families in understanding their child’s unique pattern of development


  • Community Action Program for Children

  • assist young, first time mothers between the ages of 13 and 21 who are either pregnant or who have a child that is 6 years of age or younger
  • gives young mothers the support to explore their parenting skills, learn about proper nutrition, further their education, expand their knowledge on child health and development, and learn how to improve the health of unborn children

  • Meetings: The Board of Directors meet most 4th Tuesday of the month for their Board meeting. In order to attend the meeting, you must advise the Executive Assistant at least 1 week prior to the meeting via email or by phone and receive confirmation of your participation to the meeting
