Service Description: The Early Psychosis Intervention program is a specialized service aimed at intervening as early as possible with adolescents and young adults affected by their first psychotic episode, with the goal of reducing the severity of symptoms as well as reducing the risk of a decrease in functioning (both in the short and long term) on personal, social, professional and academic levels.

Services offered include: intervention services to clients and their family members; psychiatric consultation and regular follow-up; advocacy and service coordination; medication management; and education and prevention on the subject of psychosis for clients and their families.

Application: Referrals to the Early Psychosis Intervention program come from the family physician or internally via a mental health worker who may refer after the initial intake procedure. Individuals must be experiencing psychosis where symptoms have been treated for a period of no more than 6 to 12 months. French to follow: Les références au service sont internes et/ou proviennent du médecin de famille. Elles proviennent du programme de psychothérapie / counselling qui, suite à une pré-évaluation ou une évaluation, réfère le client au programme d'intervention en matière de psychose précoce.
