Service Description: This program services children and youth presenting with mental health concern(s). A direct, one-time consultation with a mental health specialist that can help to provide diagnostic clarification, treatment recommendations, medication review, assist in managing safety risk, etc.

Consultations are offered via video conferencing (OTN / Zoom Healthcare). The mental health specialist provides consultations out of three main locations: The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa and Vanier Children’s Mental Wellness in London, ON.

Application: Child/youth must be referred by a case manager. A case manager can be any publicly funded child and youth mental health provider working with children and youth (i.e., family health teams, youth hubs, school boards, friendship centres, etc.) Referring case manager must complete a Tele-Mental Health Service (TMHS) Referral Package and submit it to the Coordinating Agency dedicated to servicing their community. TMHS does not provide court-ordered/custody/parenting capacity assessments. No youth justice assessments for court purposes. No immediate risk assessments.
