offers services in fluency, voice, speech sounds, dysphagia, expressive and receptive language (both oral and written), as well as augmentative and alternative communication * services include:
Language impairments or delays:
- oral language (verbal communication)
- written language (i.e., reading and writing)
Speech:
- speech sound disorders – articulation, phonology and motor speech
- accent reduction
- fluency disorders (stuttering)
- transgender voice modification
- voice (phonation) impairments/disorders
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC):
- introduction to AAC
- facilitation of referral to specialized AAC clinic
- therapy focusing on use of a client’s AAC system
Swallowing disorders:
- clinical assessment and treatment (including use of Surface Electromyography (sEMG) which may, for example, be useful in rehabilitation of swallowing post-stroke)
Neurological disorders
- aphasia, apraxia, brain injury, dementia, etc
