Service Description: offers services in fluency, voice, speech sounds, dysphagia, expressive and receptive language (both oral and written), as well as augmentative and alternative communication * services include:

Language impairments or delays:
  • oral language (verbal communication)
  • written language (i.e., reading and writing)


Speech:
  • speech sound disorders – articulation, phonology and motor speech
  • accent reduction
  • fluency disorders (stuttering)
  • transgender voice modification
  • voice (phonation) impairments/disorders


Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC):
  • introduction to AAC
  • facilitation of referral to specialized AAC clinic
  • therapy focusing on use of a client’s AAC system


Swallowing disorders:
  • clinical assessment and treatment (including use of Surface Electromyography (sEMG) which may, for example, be useful in rehabilitation of swallowing post-stroke)


Neurological disorders
  • aphasia, apraxia, brain injury, dementia, etc
