Service Description: Provides and facilitates the placement of children into alternate homes

Alternate Care
  • offers information, an application package, support and training to individuals considering fostering a child/youth
  • offers approved alternate/kinship caregivers a support worker who assists with the fostering role and responsibilities while recognizing that the child/youth is their primary client


Kinship Care
  • works with the child/youth's immediate and extended family and the community to establish a permanent home for a child/youth in care
  • assesses the prospective family or community caregivers through the completion of criminal and agency background checks, personal interviews, and an assessment of the home and family
