Janis Foligno Foundation Donates $78,500 to Charitable Causes

SUDBURY, ON – The Health Sciences North Research Institute (HSNRI) Walford Road Facility is the hub of cancer research in northeastern Ontario and it served as the backdrop for a special announcement Monday morning as former professional ice hockey player, and Janis Foligno Foundation President & CEO, Mike Foligno had the distinct pleasure of announcing a number of donations totalling $78,500 to several deserving charitable causes in Greater Sudbury, Ottawa and British Columbia.

Janis Foligno passed away in 2009 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Her legacy lives on through the Janis Foligno Foundation, a charity committed to finding a cure for cancer and helping those battling the disease fight for a brighter future. “We want to make sure that we take care of our community and as a foundation and a family, we’re very focused on continuing the work my wife started,” says Mike Foligno. “She would be proud to see the work that’s being done here.”
