Success of 2018 Tim Horton’s

SUDBURY, ON – The popular Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Campaign that took place the week of September 17-23 brought extra smiles all around at Health Sciences North (HSN) Foundation. As a partner and one of the recipients of funds raised from the local Tim Hortons Campaign, HSN Foundation received $30,604 for priority equipment needs at HSN.

“We wanted to raise the bar this year on the Smile Cookie Campaign with the HSN Foundation at the two hospital Tim Hortons locations. We were able to achieve this goal due to the hard work of staff at the Foundation with the marketing and decorating of all the cookies,” said Stewart Brown, District Manager, HSN, Marek Hospitality Inc. “Over 6,400 smile cookies were sold between the two Tim Hortons locations at HSN, compared to just over 5,000 last year.”

HSN Foundation also offered the popular Smile-A-Gram service once again this year as part of the campaign, and hand delivered 238 packages of Smile Cookies to staff, volunteers and patients throughout the hospital.

“Health Sciences North Foundation is ecstatic about the growing success of this campaign,” said Mary Lou Hussak, President and CEO, HSN Foundation. “Thank you to Tim Hortons and to everyone who purchased a smile cookie or a Smile-A-Gram. Because of the success of this campaign, we are able to further support the priority needs of the hospital, which in turn enhances the quality of care for our community.”

Local Tim Hortons franchises raised a total of $120,906 across Greater Sudbury this year with the sale of Smile Cookies, with all proceeds going to several charities and organizations, including HSN Foundation.
