JOB TITLE:                          Team Assistant – Temporary, Full-Time

INITIAL ASSIGNMENT:  Rapid Response Nursing Program (HO RR TA-001)

BARGAINING AGENT:    OPSEU

LOCATION:                        Sudbury

EFFECTIVE DATE:           Immediately to October 4, 2019

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position provides support for all non-clinical duties related to the Rapid Response Nursing Program.   Working in collaboration with the Rapid Response Nurses, the Team Assistant receives and manages telephone calls, coordinates nurse’s schedules, processes incoming faxes and referrals, prepares and maintains patient charts, and supports other activities related to the Program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in a medical office administration program and/or equivalent post-secondary training and experience;
  • Relevant experience providing clerical support services in a medical office environment;
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills are required when interacting with NE LHIN staff, patients, and service providers;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, problem solve and manage multiple priorities of patients and nurses in the program;
  • Good understanding of general office administrative processes and procedures;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy when inputting data and generating reports for management or the Rapid Response Nurse Team;
  • Advanced keyboarding skills and proven proficiency with a variety of database programs, including Microsoft Excel;
  • Ability to use scheduling software (e.g. Outlook calendar) and operate copy machines, fax machines, and other office equipment;
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information in a discreet and professional manner when discussing issues with other NE LHIN staff or patients;
  • Demonstrated high level accuracy in performance of all duties;
  • Advanced oral and written proficiency in English is essential.
