The Noojmowin Teg Health Centre is committed to support and promote the overall holistic health and well-being of Anishinabek and Aboriginal individuals, families and communities within the District of Manitoulin Island. To do this, we will operate community-based programs and services, establish partnerships, and promote healthier communities through both traditional and western healing methods.

Position:  Executive Assistant

Region:  Manitoulin/Sudbury

Description:  Noojmowin Teg Health Centre seeks qualified applications for a full-time Executive Assistant. The Executive Assistant will provide administrative and secretarial assistance to the Executive Director. The successful applicant will play a key role in keeping senior management, well supported and well-prepared. This is a key role for a motivated self-starter, who is focused, detail-oriented, known as a helper and a team-player.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
• Administrative tasks, including preparing, reviewing and formatting correspondence, reports, and presentations; creating meeting agendas and minutes, filing, copying and scanning, taking and returning messages.
• Coordination tasks, such as organizing multiple meetings and schedules; travel plan coordination, event planning, and expense report reconciliation.
• Procurement tasks, such as managing office supplies, booking caterers, and running errands.
• Positively represent the organization to clients, visitors, collaborating agencies and partners.
• Research, analyze and transcribe information as requested.
• Other duties as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in Office Administration, or an acceptable combination of education or experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or non-profit setting.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher; Email, payroll and accounting software.
• Required characteristics: professionalism, ability to prioritize, good judgement, diplomacy and interpersonal communication.
• Must possess CPR/First Aid Certificate, a valid class G Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
• Anishnabemowin, as well as knowledge of Anishnabe culture and traditions is an asset
• Knowledge of area communities and local protocols is an asset
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check is necessary.


Salary:  To be negotiated

Terms of Employment:  Full-Time
