Dr. Koka recognized for ongoing support of Health Sciences North’s

SUDBURY, ON – Health Sciences North Foundation is pleased to recognize the contributions of Dr. Rayudu Koka to the success of the Bell HSNF Golf Classic with two new additions to the the Koka Garden located at the Ramsey Lake site of Health Sciences North (HSN). The installation of a new bench engraved with maple leafs and the planting of a Canadian Sheild Rose serve a dual purpose of commemorating our country’s 150th birthday as well as recognizing Dr. Koka’s outstanding support of the Bell HSNF Golf Classic held on July 13 at the Idylwylde Golf and Country Club.

“Because of Dr. Koka’s tireless commitment and support, the Bell HSNF Golf Classic was a tremendous success, raising over $166,000 to support mental health and addictions programs in Northeastern Ontario,” said Mary Lou Hussak, President and CEO of Health Sciences North Foundation. “The addition of the bench and rose bush to HSN’s Koka Garden seemed a fitting way to say thank you to Dr. Koka while enhancing the peaceful sanctuary of the garden for patients of HSN and their families.”

“I would like to express my sincere thanks to Health Sciences North Foundation for organizing and delivering another highly successful golf tournament in support of HSN’s Mental Health and Addictions Program,” said Dr. Rayudu Koka, Medical Director, Mental Health and Addictions, HSN. “Their work has helped to increase HSN’s capacity to deliver the highest quality mental health and addictions care while raising awareness and advocating for mental health.”
